An assessment of the feminist Guidelines and Strategy
In March 2023, the Federal Foreign Office, headed by Annalena Baerbock, presented the eagerly awaited 'Guidelines for Feminist Foreign Policy'. At the same time, Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), Svenja Schulze, presented the equally long-awaited 'Strategy Feminist Development Policy'.
We welcome the announcements of a feminist rethinking of foreign policy and development cooperation. But what contribution can the presented papers actually make on this path? Which measures and objectives seem promising and where do we still see room for improvement?
